Blogging
So, what's all the fuss?
Blogging is perhaps the biggest revolution to have hit the internet in recent years - everyone from your 13 year old niece to political correspondants at the BBC seem to have embraced this new medium.
Web logs, or blogs as how they have become known, allow virtually anyone to publish their thoughts and experiences regardless of technical ability.
Although relatively new in business circles, net-savvy companies are quickly establishing blogs as a core part of their customer relationships.
Advantages of Blogging
A well-implemented blog can give your business great returns. Here are just a few examples.
Build customer relationships
Blogging presents a more 'human' side of your organisation. By providing an interesting, readable blog, you are increasing the 'stickiness' of your site so visitors will come back again and again. Increased brand loyalty and leads is the logical result of this.
Blogs are a two-way discourse. Once you have 'blogged', customers can respond to the issues you raise. This is a great - and free - way to gauge your market and establish a trust-based relationship with your customers.
Enhance your reputation
Blogging goes further than making your organisation young, hip and cool. A regular, informative blog will soon establish you as an expert in your field and the first port of call for anyone requiring services you provide.
Syndicate your content
Do you court the press to gain coverage of your products or services? Blogging takes this to a new level by allowing you to syndicate your content to users worldwide - either to their browser by subscription or via websites displaying your newsfeed.
As syndicated content is usually a summary of your blog entry, traffic will be driven to your website. Blogs are also a great way to make press releases - journalists regulary scour blogs for news stories.
Great for Google!
Google loves websites which are updated frequently and has lots of relevant textual content. In fact, Google loves blogs so much that it bought out Blogger, one of the pioneers of blogging.
Having a blog is a great way to give your site every chance of ranking highly in the Google index.
Is blogging right for me?
Blogging really can bring great returns, if implemented correctly. Whilst Clicked On can get your blog up and running, you will have to ensure it is updated regulary with relevant, interesting content.
Blogs will only be read and spread around readers if you are passionate enough about your products and services and inform and engage your audience with your enthuisiasm.
Having no blog at all is preferable to having a boring, outdated blog. If you believe a blog could work for you, contact us and see how we can help you.
